About the roleÌýÌý
The Study and Stayâ„¢ Retention Coordinator coordinate and delivers (personally and working with vendors and institutions) all aspects of ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s Study and Stay – Nova Scotia Capstone program for final-year international students. Working as part of a small and mighty team, the successful candidate will work closely with students andÌýNova Scotia’s post-secondary educational institutions, mentors, and employers from various sectors across Nova Scotia.Ìý
RESPONSIBILITIES:Ìý
Coordinate the recruitment and selection of 100+ international student participants in their final year of study, working with member intuitions and internal ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓÆµ marketing Ìý
Act as the main point of contact for prospective and selected students, ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓÆµ members, mentors, employers, and other stakeholders for the Capstone programÌý
Conduct student needs assessments (pre- and mid-program) and augment program milestones and workplan accordingly to fill gaps and address emerging student needsÌý
Organize and implement (working with vendors) program milestones, activities, and events according to workplanÌý
This includes workshops/ webinars, program kick-off/ retreat in October, intercultural training and support, networking and social events, BEST conference, graduation, etc.Ìý (in-person and online)Ìý
Monitor and keep track of student progress on milestonesÌý
Update and share information to ensure students are accessing appropriate resources at their respective campus, including updating campus asset map. Ìý
Maintain regular communication with students through email (routine, newsletters, etc.) and custom app and work with the iCent team to keep the program dashboard up to date.Ìý
Monitor and work within set program budget - including sourcing and negotiating with vendors/ service providers as needed throughout the program, managing program expenses to budget, and keeping record of expenses in provided budget templateÌýÌý
Recruit and actively support mentors in their involvement with the program, maintaining great relationships Ìý
Engage program alumni in activities to support current students and understand how the program contributed to their career journeyÌý
Engage employersÌý– including organizing networking opportunities with students and recruiting employers to participate as needed. Ìý
Contribute to funder required reporting – of activities according to workplan, impact of those activities, and budgetÌý
Provide ongoing, individual support to students as needed Ìý
Work with ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s marketing team in support ofÌýprogram activities, including collaborating on social media and other content to recruit students and mentors, promote events, etc.Ìý
TravelÌýperiodically across the province in support of the above Ìý
Support other ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓÆµ initiatives and team members as needed ÌýÌý

QualificationsÌýÌý
Any diploma/degree with a focus on Business, Business Administration, Project Managment, Entrepreneurship, and/or Management – and/or equivalent experienceÌýÌý
Between 1-3 years' experience related to the aboveÌý(this can include personal projects, academic projects, volunteer work, contract work, etc.)- in particular:Ìý
Program planning/coordination, including scheduling, budgeting, managing multiple priorities, problem-solving, anticipating and mitigating risks to program success, and monitoring and reporting on resultsÌý
Essential skillsÌý
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with meticulous attention to detailÌý
Excellent interpersonal skills- you areÌýprofessional and effective in working with a variety of stakeholdersÌý
You’re comfortable working independently and know how to effectively manage your time and stay organized Ìý
You’re a natural problem solver – you look for solutions not just problemsÌý
You’re constantly looking at what can be improved and take initiative ÌýÌý
Strong technical skills and ability to learn on the go with an emphasis on the below:ÌýÌý
Proficient in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Outlook.ÌýÌý
Comfortable managing documents in cloud environmentsÌý
A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel across the provinceÌý

Knowledge of Nova Scotia’s education and training sectorÌý
Experience using iCent Ìý
Contract Details, Compensation, and Benefits:ÌýÌý
Contract position starting immediately - until August 30, 2026 (with possibility of renewal pending project outcomes)ÌýÌý
Full time hours, Monday-Friday with occasional evening and weekends for events Ìý

Salary $50,000 per year,ÌýÌý
